Background

The season follows the climactic battle between the Heroes, joined by the U.A. High School students including Izuku Midoriya, and the Villains of the Paranormal Liberation Front led by Tomura Shigaraki. Using information Hawks gathered while undercover in the merged villain group, the Heroes confront them in an all-out war that could change superhuman society. The second half shows the aftermath: the Heroes keep saving civilians and capturing Villains while coping with their losses and the public's lost trust, All For One escapes from Tartarus, the secrets of One For All start to reach the public, and Izuku, realising his power makes him a target that endangers his classmates, leaves the school to help the Pro Heroes lure the Villains out of hiding.

Crunchyroll licensed the season outside Asia and streamed it with an English dub two weeks after each Japanese airing, though the dub of episode 129 was delayed by bad weather in the Dallas area where the series is dubbed; Medialink licensed it in Asia-Pacific, and the dub aired on Adult Swim's Toonami block from December 4, 2022, to April 23, 2023.

Super Beaver performs the first opening theme and Kiro Akiyama the first ending, "Sketch", while Eve performs the second opening and Six Lounge the second ending. Toho Animation released the season on Blu-ray and DVD in four volumes between January 18 and July 19, 2023; Crunchyroll released the first part on home media on December 19, 2023, the second on August 27, 2024, and a complete Blu-ray on October 21, 2025.
