Tartarus Prison
Japan's maximum-security prison for its worst villains.
Tartarus is the maximum-security prison of My Hero Academia. All For One is locked up there after All Might defeats him in Kamino Ward, and All Might later visits to question him. Other inmates include the Hero Killer Stain, Muscular and Moonfish of the training-camp attack, the yakuza boss Overhaul and the former hero Lady Nagant, who was sent there for attacking the president of the Hero Public Safety Commission.
Lore & Background
Kurogiri is held in Tartarus as well after Gran Torino and the police capture him. It is there that Shota Aizawa and Present Mic are summoned to be told what he is: a Nomu made from the body of their school friend Oboro Shirakumo. Aizawa manages to reach what is left of Shirakumo's mind for a moment.
Reader's Guide
After the Paranormal Liberation War the prison falls. Shigaraki, by then under All For One's control, attacks it with the High-End Nomu, frees All For One's original body and lets out a great number of villains. One of the wardens, father of the Shiketsu student Seiji Shishikura, is killed. Stain escapes with a disk of the prison's security records and later gives it to All Might. In the epilogue Lady Nagant chooses to stay in Tartarus a while longer, even after Hawks offers her a pardon.
