Present Mic, Hizashi Yamada, is U.A.'s English teacher. His Quirk, Voice, amplifies his voice, which he projects from a collar shaped like a boombox. He is loud and excitable whatever the situation and calls any crowd his listeners.

He volunteers as commentator at events like the Sports Festival and the remedial hero licence training, and Kyoka Jiro first takes him for a mere announcer rather than a Pro Hero. Behind the jokes he can be furious: he is enraged to learn that Kurogiri is a Nomu made from the body of his late friend Oboro Shirakumo, and he later punches Kyudai Garaki, the doctor responsible.
