U.A. Entrance Examination

The practical test that decides who enters U.A.'s Hero Course.

The U.A. Entrance Examination in My Hero Academia is the test by which U.A. High School admits students to its Hero Course. It is the subject of the manga's third chapter, "Entrance Exam", in which Izuku Midoriya, Ochaco Uraraka and others who end up in Class 1-A take it together. Applicants who are not accepted into the Hero Course are placed in the General Course.

Lore & Background

In the practical part the examinees face machines, and the points they collect decide who passes. There is a second score the examinees are not chasing: rescue points. Izuku ends the practical with no points at all, yet the 60 rescue points he earns by saving Ochaco from a giant machine are more than enough to get him in. Ochaco shows her Zero Gravity Quirk in the same exam and uses it to catch Izuku as he falls.

Reader's Guide

Not every student comes in this way. A few are admitted through the separate Recommendation Entrance Exam, among them Shoto Todoroki and Momo Yaoyorozu of Class 1-A and Juzo Honenuki and Setsuna Tokage of Class 1-B. Inasa Yoarashi was the top recommended applicant of his year but withdrew and went to Shiketsu High School.
