Hero Internship Program
How U.A. students learn the job at real hero agencies.
Internships are part of every hero student's training in My Hero Academia. Heroes work out of agencies, and Pro Heroes scout promising students to come and train with them; to become a Pro Hero, a U.A. student must work as an intern through a hero agency. Class 1-A's first internships last one week and come straight after the Sports Festival, at which Pro Heroes can pick out students to take on as interns.
Lore & Background
A second, more serious form follows: the Hero Work-Studies. A student who has passed the Provisional Hero License Exam may work under a Pro Hero and is allowed to fight villains in emergencies. In Class 1-A's year Principal Nezu starts the work-studies for first-years earlier than planned because of the growing villain threat. The school's top three third-years pick the interns: Izuku Midoriya goes to Sir Nighteye's agency, Eijiro Kirishima to Fat Gum, and Ochaco Uraraka and Tsuyu Asui to Ryukyu.
Reader's Guide
Those placements lead into the raid on the Shie Hassaikai, after which the internships are suspended. They return on the orders of the Hero Public Safety Commission, which wants every student ready for the coming war with Tomura Shigaraki's forces. This time Izuku and Katsuki Bakugo join Shoto Todoroki under Endeavor, the new number one hero.
