Receiving One For All Quirk
A strand of hair, eaten on the morning of the exam.
Izuku Midoriya receives One For All at the start of My Hero Academia. He is 14 and Quirkless when he meets his idol All Might by chance and asks whether someone without a Quirk can be a hero; All Might tells him to dream more realistically. Later a villain with mud-like liquid abilities attacks Katsuki Bakugo, and Izuku runs in to save him without stopping to think.
Lore & Background
That act moves the worn-out All Might, who can only work as a hero for about three hours a day since his fight with All For One, to finish the villain himself. Afterwards he tells Izuku that he wants him to inherit his Quirk, One For All. Izuku accepts and trains under All Might for ten months to make his body able to hold it.
Reader's Guide
The handover itself is simple: just hours before the U.A. entrance exam, Izuku eats a strand of All Might's hair. He uses the Quirk for the first time in the practical exam, to save Ochaco Uraraka from a giant robot; the punch destroys the machine and breaks his own arm. He is the ninth holder of One For All, after All Might, the eighth.
