Kyoka Jiro

Class 1-A's music-loving hero, who hears and fights through her earlobes.

Kyoka Jiro is a pragmatic, music-loving student of Class 1-A at U.A. High School who comes from Shizuoka Prefecture. Her Quirk, Earphone Jack, lets her plug her very long earlobes into objects to pick up tiny sounds and vibrations around her, or to channel the sound of her own heartbeat as a sonic attack.

Jiro is unenthusiastic and teasing toward people who irritate her, above all her classmate Denki Kaminari, yet she enjoys company, defends her friends and gets flustered when her talents are praised. Like her parents she loves rock music and owns several instruments. At first she is embarrassed by the hobby because it seems unrelated to hero work.

Reader's Guide

The U.A. School Festival changes that. Class 1-A puts on a concert with Jiro as lead singer, and her original song "Hero Too" wins over the audience and makes Eri smile. In the final battle she and Tokoyami arrive to save Hawks, and the three land an attack that shatters All For One's protective mask. During the USJ attack she is sent to the mountain zone with Yaoyorozu and Kaminari.
