Vanguard Action Squad

The League of Villains' strike team at the U.A. forest training camp.

The Vanguard Action Squad is the group of League of Villains recruits that attacks U.A.'s forest training camp in My Hero Academia. It strikes while the students of Class 1-A and Class 1-B are in the middle of a training exercise and catches them unaware. Its mission is to capture Katsuki Bakugo, whom the League hopes to recruit.

Lore & Background

The villains work alone or in teams against different groups of students and teachers. Muscular finds the boy Kota and is beaten by Izuku Midoriya. Mustard spreads his sleeping gas through the forest until Tetsutetsu of Class 1-B defeats him. Moonfish is brought down by Tokoyami's Quirk. Magne and Spinner attack the Pro Hero Pixie-Bob and knock her unconscious, and Toga attacks Ochaco and Tsuyu. A chainsaw-armed Nomu that came with Dabi chases Momo Yaoyorozu and Yosetsu Awase.

Reader's Guide

Mr. Compress captures Bakugo and Tokoyami; the students win back only Tokoyami, and the squad leaves with Bakugo. The Pro Hero Ragdoll is kidnapped as well. Muscular and Moonfish end up in Tartarus and Mustard is arrested. The kidnapping leads directly to the heroes' raid on the League's hideout and to All Might's last fight with All For One.
