Hanta Sero

Class 1-A's tape-slinging, easygoing hero-in-training.

Hanta Sero, hero name Cellophane, is a sociable and humorous student of Class 1-A at U.A. High School who comes from Tokyo. His Quirk, Tape, lets him shoot cellophane tape from the tape-dispenser-like organs on his elbows. The tape works much like Spider-Man's webs: he can swing along buildings and past enemies with it.

Sero is laid-back, jokes with his classmates and is often the only one to call them out when they act crazy. When it matters he is a brave hero-in-training who wants to do well on his own while helping others do the same. Kohei Horikoshi came up with the character and his Quirk on a trip to a convenience store and calls the Quirk his favourite.

Reader's Guide

In the Sports Festival tournament Sero loses quickly to Shoto Todoroki. He is one of five students who fail the first-term final exam. In the Provisional Hero License Exam he, Izuku and Ochaco pass together, with Izuku acting as a decoy while the other two restrain their opponents. In the anime he is voiced by Kiyotaka Furushima in Japanese and Christopher Bevins in English.
