Denki Kaminari

A spark of genius that occasionally fries his own brain.

Denki Kaminari is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a professional hero. He was voiced by Tasuku Hatanaka in the Japanese version of the anime. His Quirk, Electrification, lets him absorb and emit electricity; overusing it makes his brain "short circuit", and he gives a thumbs-up to show he is fine. He is flirty, laid-back and friendly, and he comes from Saitama Prefecture.

Overusing Electrification short-circuits his brain. He holds back when allies are close, for fear of hurting them, and fights with more confidence once he knows they are safe. In the Joint Training against Class 1-B he lets himself be captured as a distraction for his team; during the Paranormal Liberation War an attack by Mr. Compress leaves a scar on his upper left forehead. His hero name, Chargebolt, combines the English word charge with the end of the Japanese word for lightning.
