Zero Gravity

Making the heavy light, one touch at a time.

Zero Gravity (無重力(ゼログラビティ) Mujūryoku, Zero Gurabiti) is the Quirk of Ochaco Uraraka, a bubbly and cheerful girl from Mie Prefecture and the only student in Class 1-A from the Kansai region. This Emitter-type ability enables her to make any object weightless by touching it with the extended pads on her fingertips. However, overusing this Quirk will cause her to suffer from severe nausea.

Lore & Background

Ochaco Uraraka's Quirk, Zero Gravity, allows her to nullify the gravitational pull on any object she touches with the pads of her fingertips. This power is central to her hero identity, Uravity, and her preferred focus on rescue operations, admiring Thirteen for their expertise in that area. Aware of her physical limitations, she chose to intern with the combat-oriented hero Gunhead to increase her fighting repertoire, developing new battle awareness and becoming a more instinctive fighter over time. Unlike her classmates who use smartphones, Ochaco still owns a flip phone due to coming from a poor household.

In Their Own Story

During the Final War arc, Ochaco fights Toga on Okuto Island, which is dragged into the Gunga Villa battleground by the awakened Kurogiri. In a near fatal battle with Toga, she is saved by Toga through a blood transplant that kills Toga. In More+, she confesses her feelings to Izuku.

Reader's Guide

To use Zero Gravity, Ochaco must touch an object with the extended pads on her fingertips. The object then becomes weightless, allowing her to manipulate it freely. This Quirk is especially useful for rescue scenarios, as she can lift heavy debris or transport multiple people. However, overuse causes severe nausea, a significant drawback that limits her combat endurance. To compensate, she trained under Gunhead to improve her close-quarters combat skills, becoming a more instinctive and aware fighter. Her Quirk does not grant her personal flight; she must touch herself or an object she is standing on to become weightless.
