Lore & Background
The villain Nine let Daruma Ujiko experiment on him and received a copy of All For One that can take eight Quirks on top of his own Weather Manipulation; the change worsened a terminal illness, and he needs a Cell Activation Quirk to cure it. Class 1-A is on Nabu Island for a safety work programme, where Izuku meets Mahoro Shimano and her younger brother Katsuma, who dreams of becoming a hero. The story uses ideas Horikoshi had once considered for the series finale, and it was meant to be the last film until a third appeared. It grossed $30 million worldwide.
