U.A. Support Course

The U.A. course whose students build the gear heroes rely on.

The Support Course is one of the four courses of U.A. High School in My Hero Academia, next to the Hero, General and Management courses. Its teacher is the Pro Hero Power Loader (Higari Maijima), whose Quirk, Iron Claws, gives him metal claws for digging and burrowing, and who is described as a prodigy at creating support items.

Lore & Background

Its best-known student is Mei Hatsume of Class 1-H, a first-year whose Quirk, Zoom, lets her zoom in on objects up to five kilometres away. She loves building gadgets, which she calls her "super cute babies", although they often explode, and she advertises them shamelessly. Power Loader is a strict teacher and is easily angered by her carelessness, yet he acknowledges her inventiveness and productivity.

Reader's Guide

Support Course students compete in the U.A. Sports Festival with the other courses; Hatsume teams up with Izuku Midoriya, Ochaco Uraraka and Fumikage Tokoyami for the Cavalry Battle. Later she modifies Izuku's costume while he develops his Shoot Style, and Izuku and Tenya Ida bring their support items to her for repairs. After the final battle she helps build the armoured suit that lets Izuku return to hero work.
