U.A. Entrance Exam Arc
Zero points, one giant robot and sixty points nobody had mentioned.
The U.A. Entrance Exam Arc opens My Hero Academia. Izuku Midoriya, Quirkless all his life, has spent ten months training under All Might and has just been given One For All when he sits the practical entrance exam of U.A. High School, in which examinees fight machines for points. Among the others taking it are Ochaco Uraraka and Tenya Ida.
Lore & Background
With no experience of his new power, Izuku quickly falls behind and has not scored a single point when Ochaco finds herself in serious danger from a giant machine. He runs to her and, using One For All for the first time, destroys it with one punch, breaking his arm in the process. Ochaco in turn catches him with her Quirk as he falls.
Reader's Guide
A week later All Might, who is about to start teaching at U.A., brings Izuku his result. It includes a video of Ochaco asking the teacher Present Mic to give her own points to the boy who saved her. Izuku scored zero on the practical but earned 60 rescue points, more than enough to pass. He starts at U.A. in Class 1-A with Bakugo and Ochaco, where the homeroom teacher Shota Aizawa at once sets a physical test and threatens to expel whoever comes last.
