Eight Bullets

Overhaul's eight loyal enforcers, recruited from society's castoffs.

The Eight Bullets are the eight elite henchmen of Overhaul in My Hero Academia. Most of them had been cast out by society and had no reason to live until Overhaul gave them a purpose. They are fiercely loyal to him, yet he treats them as expendable pawns that matter only for their usefulness to his cause.

The members include a former con artist whose Quirk, Confession, forces people to answer his questions truthfully; Toya Setsuno, whose Quirk Larceny lets him telekinetically steal whatever a target holds, even manifestations of other Quirks; Yu Hojo, who can grow sharp, durable crystals all over his body; and Soramitsu Tabe, whose teeth can chew through any solid substance. Kendo Rappa fights only with his bare fists, spinning his shoulders at extreme speed, and obeys Overhaul without any loyalty to him, while Hekiji, once a devout Buddhist, shields himself and his allies inside a dome-shaped barrier. Deidoro drinks constantly and can make anyone near him dizzy, as if drunk.

Reader's Guide

Each member has a reason for joining the Hassaikai: the con artist was disillusioned at finding no one worthy of his trust, Setsuno had lost everything to a traitorous lover and fallen into heavy debt, Hojo had been beaten almost to death by a former colleague and left on the street, and Rappa joined after Overhaul beat him easily in a fight. During the Shie Hassaikai Raid all of them are defeated and arrested by the police: Lemillion beats the con artist and Deidoro, Suneater takes down Setsuno, Hojo and Tabe, Red Riot and Fat Gum overcome Rappa and Hekiji, and Nejire, Uravity, Froppy and Ryukyu together stop the stamina-stealing gangster.
