The history of Blackwhip is a testament to the volatile heart of One For All. It first awakened in Daigoro Banjo, the fifth holder, whose boisterous spirit clashed violently with this Quirk's nature. The power stemmed from an overwhelming surge of energy that Banjo could not suppress; during moments of stress, the tendrils would lash out indiscriminately, threatening to tear him apart from the inside. This instability contributed to his demise during a final confrontation with All For One, where he was unable to restrain the wild force within. Roughly 40 to 60 years later, Blackwhip resurfaced in Izuku Midoriya. Initially, it erupted uncontrollably during a high-stakes battle against Shigaraki's forces, nearly causing catastrophic collateral damage. Unlike Banjo, however, Midoriya could hear the voices of past holders. Through Daigoro's guidance, he learned to accept the power and let it flow rather than trying to suppress his ego or fight it, transforming Blackwhip from a chaotic hazard into a disciplined instrument of heroism. Ultimately, in the final chapters of the manga (Chapter 429+), One For All was destroyed by Tomura Shigaraki; while Deku retained his physical enhancements, he no longer possesses or wields this Quirk.
