During the U.S.J. attack, she prioritized saving civilians over fighting villains. She later participates in the Provisional Hero License Exam, which is infiltrated by Himiko Toga in disguise. Tsuyu is chosen by a pair of third-year students to join them as interns alongside Ochaco Uraraka. She also performs a rock concert at a school culture festival to help Eri overcome her trauma. Tsuyu develops feelings for Deku, as noted when Ochaco Uraraka develops feelings for Deku, and Tsuyu is part of the group that intervenes to bring Deku back to U.A. after he leaves to hunt escapees.
