Owen lives in a cabin until he joins Claire to save the Isla Nublar dinosaurs from a volcanic eruption, specifically aiming to rescue Blue, his former alpha raptor. The mission reveals a double-cross by Ken Wheatley and Eli Mills at the Lockwood Estate. During an auction of dinosaurs, Owen fights guards to stop the Indoraptor's shipment.

When the creature escapes, it injures Claire, who tells him to protect Maisie Lockwood before kissing him. After the Indoraptor is killed and Blue roams free, Owen and Claire reconcile, becoming adoptive parents to Maisie, revealed as a genetic clone of Benjamin Lockwood's deceased daughter. In Jurassic World Dominion, set four years later, they live in the Sierra Nevada mountains protecting dinosaurs from poachers while hiding Maisie from Biosyn, who seeks her for research.
