InGen

The secretive company that cloned the dinosaurs.

International Genetic Technologies, Inc. (InGen) is the fictional company that cloned the dinosaurs. The novels place it in Palo Alto, California, with one further site in Europe, but most of its research happened on Isla Sorna and Isla Nublar, islands near Costa Rica. The first novel presents it as one of many small genetic-engineering start-ups of the 1980s, until a small group learns it has found a way to clone dinosaurs for an island theme park.

The first film stresses the Jurassic Park brand instead: the InGen name appears on screens and helicopters but is never spoken. The company is more prominent in the second film, and by Jurassic World it and all its intellectual property belong to Masrani Global Corporation. After InGen goes defunct, Jurassic World Rebirth reveals that the drug company ParkerGenix obtained its files and dinosaur tracking systems.
