Simon Masrani

The owner of Jurassic World, entrusted by John Hammond with his dream.

Simon Masrani is the CEO of Masrani Global Corporation and the owner of Jurassic World, played by Irrfan Khan in the 2015 film. The film calls him the eighth richest man in the world and says John Hammond entrusted him with his dying wish to open the theme park. According to the film's in-universe marketing website, his father Sanjay started the company in telecommunications, it later moved into oil, bought InGen after Hammond's death in 1997, and opened Jurassic World in 2005.

Masrani believes the dinosaurs' and guests' happiness both matter. When the Indominus rex escapes he orders it taken alive, having $26 million invested in it, and confronts its creator Henry Wu. Still training for his helicopter licence, he flies a helicopter with two ACU soldiers to hunt it; the Indominus breaks into the aviary, and the freed pterosaurs bring the helicopter down, killing him.
