Henry Wu

Dr. Henry Wu is a fictional character introduced in Michael Crichton's 1990 novel Jurassic Park. He is the lead geneticist of both Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, overseeing the de-extinction of the dinosaurs through genetic engineering. A Velociraptor kills him in the novel, but he survives throughout the films, where BD Wong plays him.

Wu is a supporting character in the novel but has a much smaller part in the 1993 film; Wong, who like Wu is Asian-American, believed the role was cut back because of racial exclusion in Hollywood. Wong was the only actor from the earlier films to appear in Jurassic World (2015), where the writers saw Wu as a natural character to bring back, and he returned again in Fallen Kingdom (2018) and Dominion (2022).
