Exdeath Void Crisis
The tree-born sorcerer who seeks the Void sealed between the two worlds.
Exdeath, the primary antagonist of Final Fantasy V, emerged as a corrupted amalgamation of the malicious demons sealed inside a tree in the Great Forest of Moore after the Void incident a thousand years earlier. When he tried to claim the world, the Four Warriors of Dawn, Galuf, Xezat, Dorgann and Kelger, sealed him in the first world using its crystals, bringing thirty years of peace.
Lore & Background
The Void is an evil entity whose power the mage Enuo once used to imperil the world; Enuo was destroyed with twelve legendary weapons, but the Void could not be, so the people split the four elemental crystals into two sets, creating two worlds with the Void sealed in a dimensional cleft between them.
A thorn that leaps from Krile's palm manifests as the resurrected Exdeath, fully in command of the Void. With help from a reformed Gilgamesh, the heroes find him at the centre of the rift, defeat him and use the crystal shards' power to seal the Void once more, restoring the reunified world and its crystals.
