Ultimecia Time Compression Event
The sorceress from the future who tries to collapse time into herself.
Ultimecia, a powerful sorceress from the future with a vendetta against SeeD, foresees her own demise and seeks to avert it through Time Compression, a magic that would cause time to collapse, extinguishing all life as she becomes an omnipotent goddess.
Lore & Background
She needs Ellone's power to achieve it, so she uses the possessed sorceress Edea and the Galbadian military to hunt the girl. After Edea's defeat and the breaking of Ultimecia's control, Edea briefly joins Squall's party; the party also defeats Seifer, who now serves Ultimecia. Ultimecia then takes possession of a sorceress once more and, using Ellone's powers, begins Time Compression.
Following Odine's plan, Squall and his party exploit Time Compression to confront Ultimecia in the future. After the final battle, as time returns to normal, the dying Ultimecia passes her powers to Edea at the orphanage in the past.
