Balamb Garden Graduation

The field exam at Dollet that makes Squall, Zell and Selphie members of SeeD.

Graduation to SeeD status marks a Balamb Garden student's move into the mercenary force. This event functions simultaneously as a high-stakes practical examination and a formal ceremony within the mobile fortress of Balamb Garden. After the Dollet field exam, Squall, Zell and Selphie graduate to SeeD status, while Seifer fails because of his disobedience.

Lore & Background

SeeD is an elite mercenary force based in the Gardens and employed by multiple nations. The graduation party following the ceremony celebrates those who survived the trial, including Squall Leonhart, Zell Dincht, and Selphie Tilmitt. However, the event also highlights internal fractures; Seifer Almasy fails due to disobedience when he abandons his team during the mission, contrasting with Squall's group which successfully halts the Galbadian advance in Dollet.
