At the start of the first Final Fantasy, the four Warriors of Light, each carrying a darkened crystal, can reach only the Kingdom of Coneria and the ruined Temple of Chaos. Their first quest is to rescue Princess Sarah from the evil knight Garland.
Lore & Background
After the rescue, the King of Coneria builds a bridge that lets the Warriors travel east to Pravoka, where they free the town from Bikke and his pirates and take their ship. Garland later returns as the archdemon Chaos at the end of a two-thousand-year time loop.
