Cecil Harvey, the main character of Final Fantasy IV, begins the game as a dark knight and captain of the Red Wings, the elite air force of the kingdom of Baron. He serves the king alongside his childhood friend Kain Highwind, commander of the Dragoons, and later becomes a paladin.
Lore & Background
The story follows Cecil as he tries to stop the sorcerer Golbez from seizing the powerful crystals and destroying the world. Kain's betrayals are driven by Zemus's control over Golbez, and Kain is released when the Lunarian Fusoya breaks that control.
Cecil is joined on his quest by Rydia, a young summoner from Mist; the sage Tellah, who seeks the forbidden spell Meteor to defeat Golbez; Edward, the bard prince of Damcyan; Yang, head of the monks of Fabul; and the twin mages Palom and Porom from Mysidia. Rosa Farrell, a white mage and archer, is his love interest.
