Ul'dah
The trade sultanate of Thanalan, home of the Immortal Flames.
Ul'dah is a trade-centric sultanate in arid Thanalan and one of Eorzea's four prominent city-states in Final Fantasy XIV, alongside Gridania, Limsa Lominsa and Ishgard. It is one of the three starting cities, and its Grand Company, the Immortal Flames, is led by Flame General Raubahn Aldynn.
Lore & Background
The city refuses asylum to Doman refugees, and Alphinaud finds that riots among Ala Mhigan refugees there are being manipulated by Teledji Adeledji, an influential member of the ruling Syndicate. Sultana Nanamo Ul Namo privately tells the Warrior of Light that she intends to dissolve the monarchy and make Ul'dah a democratic republic.
A victory celebration is held in Ul'dah in the hope of bringing Ishgard back into the Eorzean Alliance. In Shadowbringers, Nanamo reports that Amalj'aa prisoners have summoned a 'Lunar Ifrit' and that other lunar primals are arising.
