Akatsuki

Shadows in the rain, hunting beasts to reshape destiny.

The Akatsuki is a notorious criminal organization composed of rogue ninja seeking to alter the balance of power in the shinobi world. Originally founded as a peacekeeping group by Yahiko and his friends, they were later co-opted by hidden agendas involving the Tailed Beasts and mass genjutsu techniques. Lore & Background

The origins of the Akatsuki lie in the tragic history of the Hidden Rain Village. Founded by Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan during a time of civil war, they initially sought peace through strength against oppressive forces. After Yahiko's death the group was led by Nagato, with Obito Uchiha as his benefactor. To collect all nine Tailed Beasts it recruited rogue ninja such as Deidara, Sasori and Hidan, whose former villages regard them as S-class criminals.

Reader's Guide

Originally founded by Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan in the Hidden Rain Village, the Akatsuki began as a group dedicated to peace through strength during times of war. However, following Yahiko's tragic death, Obito Uchiha manipulated the organization into becoming a criminal syndicate under the guise of Pain. Their primary objective shifted dramatically toward capturing all nine Tailed Beasts to cast an eternal genjutsu over humanity and end conflict through illusion.

Its members work with assigned partners; Zetsu is the only one without a partner of his own. Notable members included the partners Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki. The captured beasts were fed to the Gedo Statue to turn it back into the Ten-Tails, whose host would cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Nagato sacrificed his life to revive Konoha's dead during a final confrontation, while Obito was eventually redeemed by Naruto Uzumaki.
