The Senju Clan is the family of the First and Second Hokage, Hashirama and Tobirama Senju. During the Warring States Period, they were considered equals to the Uchiha, engaging in fierce rivalry before eventually forging an alliance that birthed the Hidden Leaf Village.

The Senju fought the Uchiha through the Warring States period, and Madara Uchiha held a grudge against the clan for killing his brothers. Their relationship with the Uchiha was defined by conflict until Hashirama Senju sought reconciliation. By uniting with Madara Uchiha, they established Konohagakure, ending centuries of bloodshed. This transition marked a shift from clan-centric warfare to village-based cooperation, fundamentally altering how shinobi operated globally. Hashirama's granddaughter Tsunade Senju became one of the Sannin and the Fifth Hokage, the first woman to hold the title.
