Kintaro
The tiger-striped Shokan who succeeded Goro.
Kintaro is the sub-boss of Mortal Kombat II and of the 2011 reboot, and the second-to-last boss of Shaolin Monks. A Shokan, he has his race's four arms and great size but is set apart by tiger-like stripes.
Lore & Background
He takes part in Shao Kahn's push to conquer Earthrealm during the second tournament and is defeated by Liu Kang. In the reboot Kung Lao beats him instead, and the reboot also makes him the one who caused Kabal's injuries. In the 2015 Mortal Kombat X prequel comic he is killed by Sonya Blade while she is under Havik's control.
Reader's Guide
He was a stop-motion clay figure named after the Japanese folk hero Kintaro. He was first planned as a fur-covered bipedal tiger, but the outfit proved too hard to make, and John Tobias redesigned him as a 'Goro spinoff', possibly a Shokan general but not royalty. Critics often call him a reskinned Goro.
