Cyrax

The Lin Kuei cyborg who gets his humanity back.

Cyrax is a Lin Kuei assassin from Botswana who agreed to become a cyborg. In Mortal Kombat 3 he and fellow cyborg Sektor are sent to find and kill Kuai Liang, who has left the clan.

Lore & Background

During Shao Kahn's invasion Kuai Liang captures and reprograms him to help defeat Shao Kahn. In Mortal Kombat Gold Sonya Blade and Jax take him to the Outer World Investigation Agency to restore his humanity, and he joins it as a scout. The 2011 reboot makes him a human who opposes the Cyber Initiative but is converted anyway, then fights for Shao Kahn until Nightwolf beats him. In Mortal Kombat 11 he regains his mind and sacrifices himself to destroy Sektor's cyborg factory. Mortal Kombat 1 has two versions: the original as a Kameo Fighter and a female Cyrax, Sektor's apprentice, who defects to the Shirai Ryu.
