Kotal Kahn

The sun-powered Osh-Tekk emperor of Outworld.

Kotal Kahn is the emperor of Outworld in Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat 11. He is an Osh-Tekk, an Aztec-inspired species whose powers come from the sun, and his weapon is a macuahuitl.

Lore & Background

In Mortal Kombat X he fights a civil war against Mileena with help from Earthrealm's warriors, turns on them because of D'Vorah's deception, and leads an invasion of Earthrealm that the Lin Kuei drive back. In Mortal Kombat 11 Shao Kahn's return threatens his rule; after Shao Kahn cripples him he names Kitana Outworld's new ruler. In the Aftermath expansion he fights again once healed and is killed by Shao Kahn in a surprise attack. Mortal Kombat 1 only mentions him, as having been beaten off-screen by Raiden in the tournament.
