Earthrealm
The human realm under Raiden's protection.
Earthrealm is the Mortal Kombat name for Earth, the realm of the series' main heroes. The Mortal Kombat: Deception manual calls it home to Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Sonya Blade, Johnny Cage and Jax, under the protection of the thunder god Raiden.
Lore & Background
The first game takes place in Earthrealm, where its warriors enter the tournament to keep their realm free of Outworld. Shao Kahn invades it in Mortal Kombat 3, the fallen Elder God Shinnok attacks it in Mortal Kombat 4, and in Mortal Kombat X Shinnok corrupts the Jinsei, the source of its life force. When Raiden becomes an Elder God, the wind god Fujin takes over as its protector. In Mortal Kombat 1 Fire God Liu Kang becomes its protector.
