Benjamin Lockwood's Northern California estate, site of the dinosaur auction.

The Lockwood estate in Northern California is the home of Sir Benjamin Lockwood, John Hammond's former partner in the de-extinction of the dinosaurs, in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. After the Senate votes against rescuing the animals from Isla Nublar, Lockwood invites Claire Dearing there, and he and his assistant Eli Mills present a plan to move the dinosaurs to a new island sanctuary. The captured animals are in fact shipped to the estate, where Lockwood's orphaned nine-year-old granddaughter Maisie overhears Mills and an auctioneer planning to sell them.

Background

When Maisie tells her grandfather about the auction, he confronts Mills, who refuses his orders and smothers him with a pillow. Maisie is later revealed to be a clone of Lockwood's dead daughter, the reason Hammond ended their partnership. Owen Grady and Claire become her adoptive parents. Director J. A. Bayona worked out his ideas for the Lockwood mansion with the production designer over four weeks in Barcelona; Lockwood himself does not appear in the novel.
