Where ancient DNA was resurrected, leading to humanity's most dangerous mistake.
The Main Laboratory is the scientific heart of Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar, where chief geneticist Dr. Henry Wu and his team clone the park's dinosaurs. At the park's visitor center, the visiting experts learn that the cloning was accomplished by extracting dinosaur DNA from prehistoric mosquitoes preserved in amber, and they witness the hatching of a baby Velociraptor.
Lore & Background
The laboratory is tied to the park's failure: computer programmer Dennis Nedry, bribed to steal frozen dinosaur embryos, deactivates the park's security system to access the embryo storage room. Wu had used the DNA of other animals, including frogs, to fill in gaps in the dinosaur genomes, and it is later discovered that the frog DNA allows the all-female animals to change sex, making reproduction possible.
