Lore & Background

In Twilight, Ashfur and Squirrelflight grow close while her relationship with Brambleclaw falters; in Sunset she returns to Brambleclaw. In The Sight he is the mentor of Lionpaw. During the fire in Long Shadows he blocks the escape of Squirrelflight, Jayfeather, Hollyleaf and Lionblaze, tells her he never forgave her, and admits that he took part in Hawkfrost's attempt on Firestar's life. When Squirrelflight reveals that the three are not her kits, he lets them go but threatens to expose the secret at a Gathering. Before he can, his body is found in the stream on the WindClan border; Hollyleaf is later revealed to have killed him. From StarClan he plans a takeover of the living Clans: in The Broken Code he cuts the Clans off from StarClan and possesses Bramblestar's body, until Bristlefrost destroys him in A Light in the Mist at the cost of her own life.
