SkyClan
The lost fifth Clan, driven from the forest and rebuilt in a far-off gorge.
SkyClan is one of the five warrior Clans in Warriors, long remembered as the lost fifth Clan. After losing its territory to human deforestation it was chased from the original forest by the other four Clans, who would not share their land. The cats tried to make a new home in a distant gorge, but constant attacks by rats wore them down and the Clan disbanded. In Firestar's Quest, StarClan sends Firestar to the gorge to start the Clan anew, and in A Vision of Shadows SkyClan comes to the lake to take its place beside the other four.
Lore & Background
Clear Sky, later Skystar, was the first leader of SkyClan, and Cloudstar led it when it was driven from the forest. In Firestar's Quest, Firestar and Sandstorm travel upriver and meet Skywatcher, a descendant of the old Clan, who tells them its story and shows them the Whispering Cave. Firestar gathers a group of cats, re-establishes the Clan and helps it defeat the rats that destroyed its predecessor. Leafdapple becomes the leader Leafstar on the Sky Rock, with Sharpclaw as deputy and Echosong as medicine cat. SkyClan's Destiny picks up six months later: the Clan has taken in loners, rogues and former kittypets, and the 'daylight warriors', kittypets who help by day and go home to their humans at night, divide the Clan. In Changing Skies, Leafstar's failing sight leads to a misjudged attack on badgers, and after a vote she steps down in favour of her deputy Hawkwing.
