In Their Own Story

In The Matrix Reloaded, Persephone meets Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus when they arrive to negotiate with her husband. When the Merovingian declines to help the human resistance, Persephone intervenes. She offers to assist them in freeing the Keymaker, but only if Neo kisses her with the same passion he has shown for Trinity. Reluctantly, Neo complies. This specific act allows Persephone to perceive that Neo is truly the One. Later in the film, she takes a violent turn, killing one of her husband's employees. Before firing, she wonders aloud, "How many people keep silver bullets in their gun?" implying the victim might be a werewolf. In The Matrix Revolutions, she warns the Merovingian that Trinity would kill everyone in Club Hel to free Neo from the Train Station simply because she is in love, further highlighting her understanding of devotion.
