Background
He ate the Logia-type Mag-Mag Fruit, which lets him create and control magma and turn into it. A firm believer in "Absolute Justice", he will wipe out a whole population if an enemy may be hiding among them. When the World Government destroyed Nico Robin's home island of Ohara, he sank a ship of fleeing refugees in case a single scholar had slipped aboard, which Aokiji called foolish overkill. After Sengoku retires, Akainu wins the post of fleet admiral by beating Aokiji in a ten-day duel on Punk Hazard. His appearance is modelled on Bunta Sugawara.
