Lore & Background

The organization is led by a fleet admiral, a post now held by Akainu (Sakazuki), and its greatest forces are the three admirals, currently Kizaru, Fujitora and Ryokugyu. The corrupt Captain "Ax-Hand" Morgan, father of Helmeppo, was the first high-ranking Marine shown in the series and lost his rank after Luffy defeated him. Akainu, who wields the Mag-Mag Fruit, is a firm believer in "Absolute Justice" and became fleet admiral after Sengoku retired.
