Ikkaku Madarame
Squad Eleven's bald brawler who hides his bankai.
Ikkaku Madarame is the Third Seat of Squad Eleven in Bleach and later its lieutenant. A bald, battle-loving fighter, he lives to fight and die under Kenpachi Zaraki.

Lore & Background
Ikkaku once fought Zaraki and lost but survived. When Zaraki became captain, Ikkaku and his friend Yumichika Ayasegawa joined the Soul Reapers to serve under him. He is said to be the squad's second strongest and could become a captain, but insists his only goal is to die under Zaraki. He and Tetsuzaemon Iba, a former squadmate, have a habit of duelling, drinking sake and duelling again to decide who buys the next round.
He takes over as lieutenant of Squad Eleven after Yachiru Kusajishi vanishes into Zaraki's bankai.
Hōzukimaru
The sword looks plain and keeps a blood-stopping ointment in its hilt. Released with "extend", it becomes a spear, and "split" turns the shaft into a three-section staff. He keeps his bankai secret so nobody pushes him into a captaincy.
Bankai
Ryūmon Hōzukimaru is three oversized blades on a heavy chain: one in each hand and a fan-shaped blade with a carved Chinese dragon floating behind him. It has no special ability beyond raw power, and the dragon crest slowly glows crimson as a fight goes on, growing stronger as it does.
