An Arrancar is a hollow that has gained Soul Reaper-like traits by removing its mask, making it more humanoid and more versatile in combat. The change can happen naturally or be forced artificially. Aizen's Arrancar army is a main enemy in the middle of Bleach.

Lore & Background
Aizen's Arrancar wear white uniforms and keep the Spanish style of the hollows; Tite Kubo named many of them after real architects and designers. Apart from the ten Espada, Arrancar are numbered from 11 in the order they were born.
Reader's Guide
Arrancar keep their hollow abilities, including Cero blasts, a burst of speed, a fast projectile of solidified spiritual pressure that is weaker than Cero but about twenty times quicker, and a hardened skin that can stop a blade barehanded. Their zanpakutō holds their full power, and releasing it, Resurrección, returns them to a form like their hollow self and heals their wounds.
Aizen sends Arrancar against Karakura Town and Soul Society, and Ichigo's group storms Las Noches in Hueco Mundo to rescue Orihime. After Aizen's defeat, the Wandenreich captures many Arrancar to serve as foot soldiers.
