Coyote Starrk

Lore & Background

Starrk and Lilynette came from a single Hollow whose spiritual pressure was so deadly that weaker beings could not survive near it; out of loneliness it split its soul in two. Starrk does not remember that original form but takes comfort in having company. They joined Aizen because he could stay near them without dying. Starrk is lazy and rarely fights at full strength, while Lilynette is aggressive and supplies the drive he lacks.

In Fake Karakura Town he faces Shunsui Kyōraku and suggests they pretend to fight until the others finish. Seeing the captains' bankai, he merges with Lilynette and releases, and ends up against Jūshirō Ukitake too. When Wonderweiss stabs Ukitake, Starrk blasts Shunsui with a point-blank Cero. He then fights the Visored Love and Rose, and Baraggan's death angers him enough to unleash his true power and overcome them. Shunsui stabs him from behind before he can finish them, and their duel leaves Starrk fatally wounded. Falling, he apologises to Aizen and realises he was never alone, thanks to Lilynette and the other Espada.

Powers

Lilynette is effectively his zanpakutō, and he must absorb her to release. His Ceros are larger than other Espada's. Released, he looks like a gunslinger with a fur-lined coat, bandoliers and an eyepiece shaped like Lilynette's mask fragment, and wields two guns that fire rapid Ceros, one of which is Lilynette. His true ability splits their spirit into an army of wolves that bite, teleport, explode on command and reform after each blast.

Trivia

Tite Kubo said in an interview that Starrk had a second release, like Ulquiorra, that he never used.
