Lore & Background

He represents despair, which shows in how opponents lose hope when they cannot hurt him. He says he only feels alive when choking on his own blood. He cannot stand a woman being stronger than him or ranked above him, and though he wants a warrior's death he will torture and kill opponents already worn out by another fight. His one Fracción, Tesla Lindocruz, idolises him, and he has a long, vicious rivalry with the former Espada Nelliel. A large eyepatch covers the left side of his face, where his mask remnant and Hollow hole sit.

Told to stand by, he goes looking for a fight anyway, beats Chad easily and then interrupts Ichigo's win over Grimmjow, attacking both exhausted fighters. Nelliel, whom he long ago defeated dishonourably and pushed out of the Espada, stops him. She has the upper hand until she reverts to her child form. Kenpachi Zaraki then arrives, and after a long, destructive duel that both enjoy, Zaraki gives Nnoitra the warrior's death he wanted.

Powers

Nnoitra has the hardest hierro (skin) of any Espada, so most attacks barely affect him; only the released Yammy is more durable. His zanpakutō is a giant polearm with two crescent blades joined back to back, which flashbacks show once had only one crescent. Released, he grows two more pairs of insect-like arms, each holding a scythe, and can regrow them.
