Background

Zephyr is first seen with the Crimson Crows hijacking a train in Calaglia, where they find Shionne Imeris; he later witnesses the birth of the Blazing Sword and brings Iron Mask and Shionne to the Crows' safehouse at Ulzebek. He devises the plan to take down Balseph: the Crows draw the main force while Iron Mask and Shionne slip into Glanymede Castle. When Rinwell arrives seeking help for Cyslodia he goes with Alphen and Shionne, leaving the Crows to stabilize Calaglia.

At Messia 224 he is trapped because the Bureau of Civil Observation agent stationed there is his son Law; unable to fight or abandon him, he is taken to Cysloden for public execution. Offered survival in exchange for betraying his comrades, he refuses and instead speaks of losing his wife and alienating his son, pleading with the Cyslodians to protect their loved ones. Law rescues him, but Ganabelt Valkyris, posing as the Silver Swords' leader Meneck, stabs him with a poison resistant to Shionne's healing, and he dies calling out to Law.

His body is cremated in Calaglia and his ring given to Law. A phantom of him later returns through a reminisce device on Daeq Faezol, and he is an optional boss in Beyond the Dawn. He fights with his fists, his right arm heavily armored.
