Background
Longing to liberate their people, the Dahnan resistance, including the Crimson Crows, fights relentlessly against Balseph's forces. Balseph rules from Glanymede Castle, whose rugged look is said to reflect its owner's brutish nature. Calaglia's largest mine produces fire astral energy with the labor of countless slaves, many of whom die; a freight train carries its ore through a stationing post for Renan armored soldiers and zeugles. Ulzebek is a slave living quarter used as a resistance meeting point.
A trench of fire surrounds Balseph's castle, and the Gates of Fire are the sole point of entry in the wall that separates Calaglia from the other realms. A mountainous cave system connects Calaglia to Cyslodia. When Balseph is overthrown, the resistance groups step up to fill the void in government. In the New World the heat slowly eases and plants begin to return, Ulzebek becomes the de facto capital and autonomy center of the Crimson Crows, and the slave shacks of the mine become the temporary homes of the Renans.
