Background
The thorns passed down to Shionne when Naori used her powers to contain the energy of the failed ceremony. Raised in isolation as a research subject, she became reclusive and emotionally awkward, and because the thorns prevented her from dying of anything but old age she began to seek a way to be rid of them. At nineteen she learned of the Renas Alma, the grand prize of the Crown Contest, which needs all five Master Cores to assemble. She escaped Lenegis, stole the Fire Master Core from Lord Balseph of Calaglia and was captured and declared a traitor to Rena, then freed during the Crimson Crows' attack on the prison train.
In the Zionne Mines she met the amnesiac Iron Mask, the first person able to touch her without flinching; when her master core activated he pulled the Blazing Sword from it. She partnered with him to hunt the Lords, and only on the road to Mahag Saar, after surviving the Mysterious Swordsman's blade without a wound, did she admit that her goal was to assemble the Renas Alma and rid herself of her thorns. She fights with gun-based long-range strikes, Sniper Blasts, astral-energy bombs and healing artes, and can use Light-elemental artes despite being a Renan. A running gag is her enormous appetite.
