Background

Rena and Dahna were meant to be born as one planet, but the process failed midway and the shared system became the Twin Worlds. Dahna's astral energy dispersed and has little will of its own, while Rena's concentrated in the core and became the sentient Great Spirit. At first it wanted to finish combining the worlds by absorbing both planets' energy, but the more it absorbed the more it feared death and grew desperate to survive. It subjected its own people, the Helganquil, to mind control and maintained the lie of the Crown Contest for over three hundred years.

The party tries to store its energy in the Renas Alma, which can suppress astral energy's sentience, and must defeat it in battle after it consumes the Alma; Vholran interrupts the ceremony and Shionne contains the Spirit within herself. After Vholran destroys the Renas Alma, Alphen pleads with Dahna's will, and the worlds fuse into a single, stable New World, where the Great Spirit, represented by blue flowers, persists as a harmless, omnipresent entity entwined with Dahna's will. In battle it is a being of Dark astral energy with two forms; its mystic arte is Black Hole.
