Ketsubutsu Academy

A high-ranking hero academy with a one-sided rivalry with U.A.

Ketsubutsu Academy is a high-ranking hero academy in My Hero Academia that claims a rivalry with U.A. High School, though that rivalry is far more one-sided than the one between Shiketsu and U.A. Its teacher, Ms. Joke, makes it the only school other than U.A. with a named member of teaching staff.

Quick Facts

Type: Hero academy
Teacher: Ms. Joke

Lore & Background

Its students include third-years Yo Shindo (Grand), whose Quirk Vibrate sends powerful vibrations through any surface he touches; Tatami (Turtle Neck), a U.A. fan whose Quirk Telescopic lets her pull parts of her body in like a turtle; and Shikkui Makabe (Mr. Smith), whose blue, rock-like skin gives him an odd look and whose Quirk Stiffening hardens any object he rubs, though not living beings. Another student, Itejiro Toteki (Boomerang Man), throws objects with great accuracy and can change their path in mid-air.

Reader's Guide

Yo Shindo seems polite and friendly, but this is a front that gets others to lower their guard; he is a calm, tactful strategist and a natural leader. During the Dark Hero Arc, Muscular pins him down until a masked figure, Izuku Midoriya, rescues him, and Yo later wonders whether his rescuer is the boy he met at the Provisional Hero License Exam. Tatami was not ashamed to ask her U.A. rivals for an autograph, but in the same arc she turns critical when Yo fails to persuade a group of civilians to evacuate.
