Background

Chiyo has a kind and compassionate personality and treats everyone kindly, usually handing her patients sweets to restore the energy that her Quirk's stamina-draining effect takes from them. At the same time she is strict and reproachful toward foolish behaviour that leads to injuries, most often with All Might for not teaching Izuku Midoriya how to use his Quirk properly, and with Izuku for using it recklessly and hurting himself.

She eventually refuses to heal the injuries Izuku inflicts on himself with One For All so that they do not become habitual, and urges him to find another way to master the Quirk's power without self-injury. She can be harsh and critical too, rebuking Present Mic for losing to a swarm of bugs in his practical battle during the First Term Final Exam despite his entomophobia.
